Theme: Nature

Subtheme: Exploration/Adventure/Sense of Play

Nature finds its way. The climate of Nova Scotia has been a big draw for me. Each season brings with it a different sport to enjoy. Alpine skiing and skijoring are my winter favourites. When there isn’t snow or ice cover, canicross is something we do frequently. Found this beautiful flower along the street while we were out running on a recent wintery day.

Fort Needham Park. The place where I met my current boss and was hired on the spot. Now for the back story: It was mosquito hour late that summer evening, I was walking along the path eager to get home when puppy (pictured) started barking into the darkness. I apologized non-stop to the person passing by with a dog who also started barking in excitement. Person recognizes me, we chatted for too long while mosquitoes kept on attacking the puppy and me. Our dogs continue to play each time we meet at this park. Halifax is a strange place, sometimes you take your puppy for a walk, come home with a job.

Usige Ban Falls Mystery hole: Ahoy… brave traveler care to explore what lives in there? Could be mice, squirrel or a snake. Looking through mind’s eyes could be elf, fairies and leprechauns.

Subtheme: Reflection

The Wasp and the Spider: While looking for bugs, bees and other insects this wasp zooms by me and gets caught in the spider’s net and the spider starts to wrap it in its silk. It made me realize something that, we are like that wasp speeding with our life suddenly getting caught by the monster called “Time” wrapped and ready to be devoured.

Roosevelt’s Words: Roosevelt has a famous saying that goes “eyes to the stars, feet to the ground” and I’ve always tried to embrace that notion throughout my life. Growing up in a city larger than the GTA, it can be very easy to lose your way while searching for your big break or your next big success. I’ve come to find that I’m able to better embody Roosevelt’s saying here in Halifax/Nova Scotia, where the “big city, small town vibe” allows me to have my eyes to the starts looking for my next big break while also having my feet to the ground, not getting lost in the hustle and bustle of the concrete jungle.

Subtheme: Return to Childhood

George’s River Scotch Lake Hike: Going into nature has always been a special feeling to me. Healing my soul and sanity and enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer. And the best part about it is when you have people love, and respect accompanying you parting their knowledge and understanding on to you making you wiser and humble.

George’s River Frog: It’s just a funny picture reminding me of the Disney movie “The princess and the Frog”. I felt like it was saying, “What are you looking at human? Do you see your Princess?”……Hahahaha.

Garter Snake Surprised: Funny when you surprise a garter snake on its tracks. It was beyond hilarious.
